Wildcat boys host substate soccer opener

The Humboldt boys' soccer team will host Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Monday, May 18, in a Class 2A substate tournament opener. Action begins at 7 p.m. on Mason Maach Field. The winner will advance into a semifinal round game in Orange City on May 27 against No. 1 seeded Unity Christian of Orange City.

The other half of the substate one bracket has Sergeant Bluff-Luton hosting Sheldon/South O'Brien with the winner playing at No. 2 seeded Sioux Center on May 27. The substate final is set for May 29 in Orange City.

Humboldt, 4-6-5 overall on the season, hosts Clear Lake on May 14 and Charles City on May 15 to close out their 2026 regular season schedule.
