Playing one of their best basketball games of the season, the Humboldt High School boys' basketball team pushed Clear Lake for 32 minutes tonight (Jan. 15) before falling in the final minute, 59-53 in a North Central Conference game inside the Humboldt gym. Thomas Orness scored 23 points and Mason Wickett added 11 for Humboldt, which slipped to 3-8 overall, 1-5 in the North Central Conference.Humboldt will play Dike-New Hartford in the Wartburg College gym in Waverly on Saturday, Jan. 16, 5:30 p.m. The Wildcats visit Fort Dodge St. Edmond on Tuesday, Jan, 19, and host Hampton-Dumont on Jan. 22.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
