Humboldt School Board approves 4 percent increase
During their regular monthly meeting Monday night (April 15), the Humboldt School Board approved a fiscal year 2013-14 salary package with the Humboldt Education Association, which includes a four percent overall increase. The increase includes a $777 increase to the generator base salary, along with a new, updated supplementary schedule. The package includes an 8.93 percent IPERS increase and a two percent reduction in health care insurance and fees. A base salary of $30,966 (with Phase II and TSS incorporated) will be set into the present salary schedule with the resulting schedule to be used in 2013-14. If by legislative action there is a reduction of the per pupil amount in the formula that creates the Teacher Salary Supplement or any other funding source, the parties agree to enter into negotiations to resolve the issue, including the full use of impasse procedures to arbitration if needed. The contract calls for another salary lane to be added past the Masters plus 30. The new lane will be PHD and/or Education Specialist Degree.
