Wildcat girls fall in soccer regional, 4-1

Humboldt's first year fielding a women's soccer team came to a close when the Wildcats fell to Carroll Kuemper, 4-1 Tuesday night (May 28) in a Class 1A Regional Tournament game played at Carroll. Humboldt finishes the year 3-7 overall under coach Christiane Lessa.Humboldt's only goal came from April Jones, who was among several players who joined the squad to help fill out a team. Still, with four players declared ineligible due to academics, the Wildcats played the Knights with just 10 players and battled to the very end.See complete story in the June 6 issue of the Humboldt Independent.
