Promotions announced at Hy-Capacity
Hy-Capacity, one of Humboldt’s largest employers with 150 employees and 35 salesmen and independent distributors, has announced some internal promotions. Steve Olson has promoted his daughter, Molly Varangkounh, to President of Hy-Capacity effective Nov. 1. Olson has promoted his son, David, to Vice-President. Steve will remain as the company’s CEO. “I will still be involved. As CEO, I hope to be instrumental in supporting our continued growth,” Steve Olson said. “Molly and David have taken on many challenges throughout the years and gained a lot of experience and I’m confident they’ll make this company great for years to come.” On Nov. 1, Hy-Capacity will begin its 36th year of operation. The company had its humble beginnings in the ag repair shop of Steve’s father, Scratch Olson, in Bode. They specialized in rebuilding clutches and water pumps for International farm tractors. Today, the company has sales exceeding $30 million in the United States and Canada and handles over 35,000 different part numbers.
