Algona nips Humboldt boys, 59-57

The Humboldt boys basketball team suffered only their fourth loss of the season as Algona upended the Wildcats, 59-57 in a North Central Conference game in the Humboldt gym on Feb. 4.The Wildcats, 12-4 overall, 11-4 in the NCC, were led in scoring by Jaxon Heinz with 14 points, Austin Zylstra with 12 and Brady Ross 12. Jack Curran was next with eight, Nick Heider had six, Dillon Fevold three and Geoff Bruder two.Humboldt will visit Webster City on Friday, Feb. 7. They'll host Iowa Falls-Alden on Monday, Feb. 10, in a JV-varsity boys doubleheader rescheduled from Feb. 11.See complete story in the Independent.
