RoboCats are second at state
The Humboldt High School RoboCats are advancing to the North Super Regional Champi-onships after placing second at the FTC Iowa State Championship recently. They’ll head to Coralville for the three-day event April 3-5, competing against 72 teams from 13 states. The top teams from the North Super Regional Championships will advance to the World Championships in St. Louis at the end of April. The RoboCats placed second at the State Competition, competing against 47 other teams. Twice they broke this year’s state record of points scored in a match. Coach Ryan Bowman said the team’s goal at the beginning of the school year was to make it to state. “That was our goal. We had a steep learning curve after last year, when our robot could only perform one simple task.” Bowman said. “Going into state, we knew we had a shot to do well. I don’t think anyone was thinking we’d do as well as we did.” To read more about the RoboCats, pick up a copy of this week's Humboldt Independent, or subscribe by clicking on the link above.
