Area graduations honor top students
One-hundred-and-one Humboldt High School seniors accepted their diplomas Sunday, May 18, at commencement exercises at Humboldt High School. Of the graduating seniors, 30 percent were members of the Nation Honor Society. Jack Curran and Alexis Warden were named co-Valedictorians of the Humboldt High School graduating Class of 2014 at commencement ceremonies. Salutatorian honors went to Allison Boswell, with Karlee Peyton and Jacob Miller awarded the Marvyl Friesth Award. Several Humboldt High graduates completed their high school careers with grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. They included: Andrew Bonde, Thaylan Bowman, Reed Burres, Tyler Busse, Sadie Carver, Keegan Christensen, Haley Davis, Carley Downing, Dillon Fevold, Austin Flick, Lauren Friesth, Susana Gomez, Jonah Haselhuhn, Nicholas Heider, Tate Illg, Lindsey Johnson, Samantha Larson, Benjamin Madison, Hannah McLimans, Lucas Meyer, Jacob Miller, Alyssa Nehring, Brittney Nilles, Zachary Parle, Karlee Peyton, Nathan Sorlien, Madison Thomas, Nikko Wheeler, and Lucas Yoakam. At Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne High School, Haley Grein earned Valedictorian honors with Stefan Chambers named the Salutatorian.
