Humboldt handles St. Edmond, 8-1
Brenden Schnell pitched six innings with 10 strikeouts and Chris Witzke struck out three batters in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Humboldt varsity baseball team past Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 8-1 Wednesday night (June 18) in Fort Dodge. The triumph improved Humboldt's season record to 12-3 overall, 5-2 in the North Central Conference.Humboldt improved their record to 11-3 overall on the season by shutting out Pocahontas Area, 10-0 in 5 innings on June 17 in Humboldt.Algona scored in the top of the 11th inning to nip Humboldt, 1-0 in a North Central Conference baseball game in Humboldt on Friday night (June 13). Algona improved to 6-0 in the NCC while Humboldt slipped to 4-2 in the NCC, 10-3 overall.Humboldt suffered their second loss of the season Thursday night (June 12) in a 16-3 setback to Boone in Humboldt in six innings in non-conference action.Humboldt picked up another league win on Wednesday night (June 11) in Clarion with a 7-2 victory over the Cowboys.Brenden Schnell pitched seven innings of 2-hit ball with 10 strikeouts and no walks in leading the Humboldt varsity baseball team past Iowa Falls-Alden, 5-0 Monday night (June 9) in a North Central Conference game in Humboldt.Humboldt needed just five hits in the game as Dillon Fevold led the way with two singles.
