County and Sno-Skimmers reach agreement on trails

On Monday, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved the 2014-15 snowmobile trail grooming agreement with the Humboldt Sno-Skimmers. The agreement stipulates that trails be along hard surface roads only and no gravel roads. The county’s preference is for the trails to be on the south side or east side in road right of ways of county blacktops, according to Humboldt County Engineer Paul Jacobson. The agreement runs from Nov. 1 to March 31. The county does not warrant the condition of secondary road right of way to be fit for snowmobile grooming. And no signs may be attached to existing highway signs. The county requires the Sno-Skimmers group to have a certificate of insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, with the county added as an insured party. The agreement also states that Humboldt County and Humboldt County Secondary Roads will be held harmless from any claim, demand or action, or on behalf of any person or entity arising out of, or in connection with the applicant’s use of the road right of way.
