Humboldt girls fall to Pocahontas Area in basketball opener, 74-54

Humboldt's varsity girls' basketball team opened their season Tuesday night at home and fell to top-ranked Class 3A power Pocahontas Area, 74-54 in a non-conference game in the Humboldt gym. The Wildcats fell behind early 19-2 but roared back to make it a 3-point game before the Maidens pulled away in the fourth quarter.
