HHS girls top Lynx, boys fall at buzzer
Humboldt's girls used a big second half effort to rip Webster City, 62-38 Tuesday night in a North Central Conference basketball game in the Humboldt gym. Kessa Kuype scored 19 points to power the Wildcats, 10-7 overall, 8-4 in the NCC.Humboldt's boys, meanwhile, suffered a 66-64 loss to the Lynx. Seth Crouthemel's tip-in just before the buzzer lifted the Lynx. Referees put eight tenths of a second back on the clock but a 30-foot shot by Jaxon Heinz of Humboldt bounced off the front of the rim as the game ended.
