Humboldt baseball team drills Webster City, 14-3
The Humboldt High baseball team got back on the winning track Wednesday night at Webster City in a 14-3 victory over the Lynx in 5 innings. HHS now 16-5 overall, 8-2 and first in the NCC. Humboldt hosts Algona in a varsity doubleheader on Friday, July 3, at 5:30 p.m.Humboldt saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end in a 7-6 loss at North Union on June 30 in non-conference play. Humboldt had nine hits in the contest, including three by Chris Witzke and two by Brenden Schnell (homer, triple).Humboldt avenged an early season loss to Clear Lake pulling out a 2-1 victory over the Lions Monday night (June 29) in North Central Conference action in Humboldt.Jordan Edwards scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a hit by Devon Clark to leftfield with two out to lift the Wildcats, who improved to 7-2 in league play.
