Humboldt softball team pounds Iowa Falls-Alden, 11-2

The Humboldt softball team avenged an earlier loss by pounding Iowa Falls-Alden, 11-2 Thursday night (July 2) at Iowa Falls. Humboldt is now 18-9 overall, 9-3 in conference play. Avery Terwilliger pitched a six-hitter and struck out eight to lead HHS, which totaled 14 hits. Halie George was 3-for-4 at bat.Humboldt whipped South Central Calhoun, 12-2 in five innings Wednesday night (July 1) in Humboldt.HHS easily beat Pocahontas Area, 11-1 in five innings at Pocahontas on Tuesday night (June 30).Humboldt improved to 8-3 in the North Central Conference by beating Clear Lake, 9-4 Monday night (June 29) in Humboldt. The Wildcats' Avery Terwilliger earned the win pitching for the Wildcats. She allowed two hits and struck out five.Humboldt totaled 11 hits at bat with Maggy Duffield going 3-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI and four stolen bases.Algona visits Humboldt on July 3.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
