Humboldt softball team edges Lynx, 6-5

The Humboldt softball team wrapped up their regular season at Webster City Monday night (July 6), pulling out a 6-5 victory. Avery Terwilliger squeezed in Maggy Duffield in the 7th to lift Humboldt, which scored 4 runs in 7th. HHS improved to 19-10 on the season, 10-4 and 2nd in conference play.HHS saw their four-game win streak snapped Friday night in an 11-5 loss to Algona in North Central Conference action at Wildcat Field.The Wildcats will host the Lynx three nights later in first round Class 4A regional tournament play on July 9.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
