110 participate in Dam/Skunk 8K race in Humboldt

Led by overall winner Ashenafi Hatte, a total of 110 runners and walkers participated in the annual Dam/Skunk race held last Saturday, Aug. 1. The 8K event began at the Reasoner Dam in Humboldt and finished at the Rutland Dam, with the bulk of the course on the scenic Three Rivers Trail. Ashenafi, 19, who runs for the Iowa Central Community College cross country team, was the overall winner with a time of 27:49.64. Blake Whalen, 20, another ICCC runner, was runner-up at 28:00.77 and Denzel Fogg third in 28:09.89. See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
