Algona field goal with 2 seconds left turns back Humboldt, 23-20

Algona kicked a 32-yard field goal with 2 seconds left in the game to hold off Humboldt, 23-20 in Class 3A District 2 football at Algona Friday night (Sept. 25). Algona had taken a 14-0 halftime lead but Humboldt answered with a big second half, only to come up short.The Wildcats, now 1-4 overall on the season, 1-2 in district play, return home to host Greene County in their homecoming game on Oct. 2.See full story in the Humboldt Independent Newspaper.
