Humboldt Schools receive A on report card
Humboldt Community School District Superintendent Greg Darling had plenty to cheer about during a recent regular monthly meeting of the Humboldt School Board. Darling gave high praise to administrators, teaching staff, students and community members after a recent district report card from the State Department of Education lists Humboldt as one of the top 15 schools statewide. Of the 335 school districts in Iowa, the state graded each separate school building (elementary, middle school, high school) with scores and ratings tabulated from a total of 1,344 schools. Humboldt’s high school and elementary schools were rated as “high performing” schools and its middle school rated “commendable.” The combined score and rating of all three placed Humboldt’s overall score among the top 10 percent statewide. In the Prairie Lakes AEA alone, Humboldt was the only school district to receive the overall high-performing designation. Humboldt was the only high school in the AEA to be rated as “high performing.” “I just feel very good about this. Very appreciative of the community, the students, the teachers and administrators for our district receiving this outstanding report card,” Darling said.
