Bratland, ’03 Wartburg team into wrestling hall of fame

Kevin Bratland, a 1997 Humboldt High School graduate and co-captain of the 2003 Wartburg College national championship wrestling team, will be among several inductees into the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa on Saturday, June 11.
The Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame is located inside the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum in Waterloo.
The entire 2003 Wartburg College wrestling team, which won the NCAA Div. III national championship in dominant fashion, will be inducted. Others inducted include Stewart Carter (Iowa State), Justin Greenlee (Northern Iowa), T.J. Williams (Iowa), Mark Perry (Iowa) and Art Holding (posthumously).
The 2003 Wartburg College wrestling team will be the fourth team inducted into the hall of fame. The Knights won the Division III NCAA tournament with a record-setting performance in Ada, Ohio. Wartburg set the record for points at the tournament with 166.5. Every member of the team earned All-American honors, including three NCAA champions and three runner-ups. It was the third of 10 NCAA championships during coach Jim Miller’s tenure leading the program.
