Wildcat girls to 11-1 in NCC
The No. 6 ranked Humboldt softball team got back on the right track Monday (June 27) with an easy 10-2 victory over the Clear Lake Lions.
Ellie Jacobson pitched seven innings of four-hit ball with no walks and struck out three. Humboldt, now 23-5 overall on the season, kept its first-place position in the North Central Conference standings at 11-1 entering the final week of the regular season.
Humboldt clubbed 13 hits in the contest with Beth Duffield leading the way by going 4-for-5 at bat. Olivia Birdsell (double), Kelsey Peters and Rachel Darling each had two hits for Humboldt, which used a seven-run fifth inning to take command of the game.
