Coach Kap set to lead Wolverine football in final season

The 2016 high school football season will be the last for West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate veteran head football coach Pete Kapustynski.
Known locally as “coach Kap,” Kapustynski greeted nine lettermen when pre-season practice began recently. The Wolverines have eight seniors back from last year’s squad that went 6-5 overall and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the eight-player state playoffs.
“It has been a tremendous ride at West Bend-Mallard the last 24 years. I know I’m going to miss those kids, but I have to do what I have to do. I’ll move on and they’ll move on without me,” Kapustynski said.
“We have been working real hard in pre-season practice, shuffling people around and trying to find the right fit where they belong and benefit the team the most,” Kapustynski said.
