Veteran volleyball coach Chris Martin, who is new to the West Bend-Mallard/GC-B program this fall, believes teams are made in the off-season.
If the growth of the Wolverine girls in the weight room over the last six months is any indication, then WBM/GCB should be vastly improved from last year’s squad that finished 6-29 overall, 2-8 in Twin Lakes Conference play.
Martin brings 29 years of experience to the program. Having recently moved to West Bend, Martin and his wife plan on retiring in the community. They currently work at Allen Nursing College in Waterloo, where they teach ultrasound/physics.
“I’ve learned a lot of things over the 29 years. I’ll probably retire in West Bend. It is a nice community,” Martin said.
