A memorial in honor of “Farmer Dean” Coleman was presented to Carol Coleman on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Coleman farm just west of Humboldt.
Dean Coleman passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from injuries suffered in a fall from inside a grain bin at his farm.
Kelly Nostrom, Michele Wright, Brad Duffy and Kent Mueller, all with Humboldt County Farm Bureau Financial Services, presented Carol with more than 350 reading books in memory of Dean. Many of the books were farm related or books that spark the imagination or about inventing. Inside the cover of each of the books is a photo of Dean Coleman along with a note saying the book was donated in memory of Dean.
Those books were then donated to Taft Elementary School.
The presentation was made at the same time that third graders from Taft Elementary came to the Coleman farm to harvest corn they planted last spring as second graders.
