Ryan Fedders, new Taft Elementary school principal in the Humboldt Community School District, is excited to be returning to north central Iowa.
Fedders, who is currently teaching fifth grade at Crocker Elementary School in Ankeny, was approved as the new principal by the Humboldt School Board in its April 6 meeting.
“We are definitely looking forward to moving up there and getting started this summer,” Fedders said in a phone interview with the Independent.
“First off I’m excited to get to work with Jim Murray, the new superintendent. Meeting him and talking with him, we have very similar beliefs education-wise and building community relationships. I think that will be a good fit. That was a huge draw for me when we were interviewing,” Fedders said.
“And when I talked with the elementary teaching staff and community members who were on the interview team, I could see that Humboldt is a supportive community that truly cares about and values the importance of education,” Fedders said.
