Girls’ wrestling sees growth in 2nd year

HHS returns 9, led by champion Kendal Clark
Humboldt Head Wrestling Coach Chad Beaman got excited as he talked about the upcoming girls’ wrestling season.
The Wildcats begin their second year with the program, bolstered by last year’s seventh place finish in the state tournament and the return of nine letterwinners, led by defending state champion Kendal Clark in the 170-pound class.
“The girls are really excited to get started this year and we’ve added to our numbers. They are doing a nice job in practice. They only get about an hour of practice each day but they are making good use of their time,” Beaman said.
“We already notice a difference in them. The girls who are back are much more confident in what they are doing and they show improvement each day in practice. It is exciting to see,” Beaman said.
