While Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH) realizes how important it is for patients to be able to see their families and the help it provides in the healing process, the hospital also knows that visitors carry a risk of exposure each time they enter the facility. HCMH wants people to understand visiting restrictions and help the hospital in holding visitors accountable and keeping patients safe.
Here are the current restrictions.
Inpatient Care: Patients will be allowed two designated visitors at a time and must be over the age of 16. These designated visitors are the only visitors allowed during the patient’s length of stay. Visiting hours are daily from 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
Outpatient Services: Patients will be allowed one visitor, but we prefer patients come alone when able. This helps with social distancing as well.
Emergency Room: Patients will be allowed two visitors at a time and must be over the age of 16.
Long Term Care, Springvale Assisted Living: Restrictions continue to be based on the current regulatory guidelines that include our positivity rates in the county and employees/residents that are positive. Visitors are allowed in certain circumstances such as compassionate care situations or end of life. These are all scheduled visits organized by our LTC leadership team. Our chat room is also available for families but requires scheduling in advance.
Springvale Independent Living: Visitors are allowed by appointment only. Please call (515) 332-4500 to make an appointment.
• Exceptions continue to be made for end of life care and those struggling with confusion or delirium in all areas/departments.
