Humboldt County Conservation is considering future visions for Reasoner Dam and the Des Moines River in Humboldt County.
Do you have thoughts about how to move forward now that the dam has reached the end of its life in terms of materials and construction?
Join a Reasoner Dam public visioning meeting via Zoom on Tuesday, March 2 from 7-8:30 p.m.
“We’ll bring you up to speed on information included in our public Story Map (https://cutt.ly/reasoner) and share new information about fisheries in the Des Moines River. You’ll meet community members from two Iowa communities that have made decisions to address their aging dam infrastructure. We’ll also create a master list of concerns/ issues related to the dam and river as well as opportunities for potential improvements to the existing conditions. This list will enable the county to move forward in determining viable options for the future,” said Santec Professional Landscape Architect and Senior Environmental Scientist Mimi Wagner.
She has been working with county conservation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to gain community information and input to develop a plan for the dam area and the Des Moines River in Humboldt County.
If you are interested in expressing your opinion, sign up for the Zoom meeting Tuesday, March 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. Register: https://cutt.ly/reasoner-registration
