Humboldt boys substate basketball game moved to Tuesday, March 2

The Class 3A Substate final basketball game between the Humboldt Wildcats and the Clear Lake Lions has been moved to Tuesday, March 2, 7 p.m. in Algona.

The original date of Monday, March 1, conflicted with the Lions girls' basketball team which plays in the first round of the state tournament in Des Moines Monday night.

Humboldt moved within one game of the state tournament by beating the Algona Bulldogs, 71-69 on Feb. 25 in Algona. A last-second 16-foot jump shot by Humboldt's Caden Matson banked in for the Wildcat victory. Humboldt improved to 15-7 overall. The state tournament is set for March 8-12 in Des Moines.
