Humboldt boys edge St. Edmond in 8 innings, 5-4

Cade Witzke drove in Caden Matson in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Humboldt baseball team past the Fort Dodge St. Edmond Gaels, 5-4 on Friday night (July 2) in Humboldt.

The victory moved the Wildcats to 17-7 overall, 8-3 in North Central Conference play.

Wildcats rally past Nevada, 10-8
Humboldt scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past the Nevada Cubs, 10-8 in non-conference baseball action in Humboldt on Thursday night (July 1).

Humboldt, 16-7 overall, got solid pitching from Colby Clarken and Jayden Gargano to come out on top. Clarken worked four and one-third innings with three strikeouts and Gargano tossed two and two-thirds innings with three strikeouts.

Cadets down Humboldt boys, 5-2
Iowa Falls-Alden handed the Humboldt baseball team a 5-2 setback Wednesday night (June 30) in Humboldt. The loss moved the Wildcats to 15-7 overall, 7-3 in conference play.

Wildcat boys edge Boone, 7-6
The Humboldt baseball team earned its 15th victory of the season by edging Boone, 7-6 in Boone on June 29. The non-conference victory boosted Humboldt's record to 15-6 overall.

Humboldt boys upend Lions, 6-1
Humboldt snapped a two-game losing streak by turning back the Clear Lake Lions, 6-1 Monday night (June 28) in Humboldt.

Caden Matson earned the win pitching for the Wildcats.
