Humboldt boys 2nd, girls 3rd in NCC cross country

The Humboldt boys finished second and the girls were third in the North Central Conference cross country meet in Goldfield on Oct. 12.

The Wildcat boys had 74 points to finish behind team champion Clear Lake with 31. Trevor Jacobson was fourth individually to pace Humboldt with a time of 17:32. Jackson Chambers was seventh in 17:54. Aaron Lursen of Fort Dodge St. Edmond was the winner in 17:08.

The Wildcat girls had 74 points. Team champion St. Edmond had 61 points and Clear Lake was second with 64.

Joslyn Orr ran 11th in 22:23 to lead the Wildcats. Allison Hoag was 12th in 23:48. Kinzie Peyton ran 14th in 22:54 and Meg Zweibohmer 16th in 23:01. Addison Doughan of Clear Lake was the winner in 19:35.

The Wildcats will compete in a state qualifying meet at LeMars on Oct. 20. The top three teams and the top 15 individuals advance to the state meet in Fort Dodge on Oct. 29.
