When Humboldt High senior football player Christian Alcala had the opportunity to recognize an influential teacher, he knew immediately who he wanted to honor.
In a brief assembly in the Twin Rivers Elementary School gymnasium in Bode last Friday morning, in front of the entire student body, Alcala presented a bouquet of flowers and his white number eight game jersey to a tearful Kathy Hauck, a veteran teacher in the school district.
“I have had so many teachers show me what life is all about. She is so good at what she does. She is teaching all of you what life is really about and I’d like to thank her for that,” Alcala said.
