Discussions on dam options continue
By KENT THOMPSON
The Humboldt County Conservation Board and Humboldt County Board of Supervisors continue discussion this week on the best course of action for the Reasoner Dam in Humboldt.
On Nov. 17, Humboldt County Conservation Board members Bob Rasmussen, T.C. Loving and Mary Miner met with County Supervisors Bruce Reimers and Rick Pedersen. Conservation Director Todd Lee was also in attendance, along with Stantec Landscape Architect and Senior Environmental Scientist Mimi Wagner. Humboldt Mayor Dan Scholl also attended. The Conservation Board and members of the Supervisors held another work session on the matter this past Monday.
Wagner explained Stantec’s 40-page report on dam alternatives and analysis. She also presented results from a public survey taken following an open house presenting information about the report, which was held Oct. 28 at the Humboldt County Events Center.
The survey elicited 300 responses, 288 of which were county residents. Read what they had to say and what Wagner's team found out in this week's Humboldt Independent. Subscribe to print or digital editions by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
