Bode woman identified as victim in Wednesday accident

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) has released more details on the traffic fatality accident that occurred east of Bode Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 1.
According to the report, Pamela Eddington, 66, of Bode, died from injuries sustained when the 2019 Dodge Caravan minivan she was riding in struck the real of a Case-IH MX270 farm tractor pulling a large round bale trailer.
The driver of the Caravan was David Eddington Sr., of Bode. He sustained minor injures in the crash.
The driver of the tractor was Kyle Olson of Bode. Neither Olson nor other passengers in the Caravan were injured.
The accident occurred at 3:32 p.m. Wednesday on County Road C-20 (130th Street), one-half mile east of the city limits.
According to the report filed by Trooper Josh Missman with the ISP, Olson was turning into a field drive directly east of the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, when the Dodge Caravan struck the rear of the hay bale trailer.
Iowa State Patrol Troopers assisting at the scene were Sgt. Wes Niles, Trooper Mark Miller and Trooper Jesse Davenport. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Humboldt EMS, Humboldt County Medical Examiner, Bode Fire Department, Bode First Responders and Jergens Auto Body of Humboldt, also assisted.
Pamela Eddington is survived by her husband, David Sr., and three children. Funeral service is pending with Mason-Lindhart Funeral and Cremation Services in Humboldt.
