Supervisors want another meeting about dam

In football parlance, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Monday called for a fair catch and then punted.
After some discussion, the Board elected to accept the recommendation of the Humboldt County Conservation Board (see related story). The Conservation Board met on Jan. 19 and unanimously agreed to recommend Alternative 2, a dam modification and a rock ramp at an estimated total cost of $4.4 million.
But accepting the recommendation does not mean the Supervisors approve going forward with the Conservation Board’s plan or any plan at this point. The final decision could be an amalgamation of plans looked at as alternatives to the current Joe Reasoner Dam in Humboldt.
