Matson will play football at Iowa State

Humboldt High senior multi-sport standout Caden Mason announced on Sunday he has accepted a preferred walk-on offer to play football at Iowa State University in Ames.
Matson was a first-team all-state selection last fall and helped the Wildcats go unbeaten during the regular season, including a district title in Class 3A-2. He quarterbacked the Wildcats to the state semifinals, where the Wildcats fell to eventual state champion Harlan.
