Council, department heads set future goals

The Humboldt City Council has been busy over the past 10 days. There was a three-hour goal-setting session on Jan. 29, two city budget meetings on Feb. 1 and 3, lasting a total of three hours, and a regular council meeting on Monday night. Humboldt has a direction and goals moving forward as a result of a three-hour strategic planning and goal-setting session for city leaders on Saturday, Jan. 29.
The session was attended by Humboldt Mayor Dan Scholl, City Administrator Cole Bockelmann, City Clerk Gloria Christensen, and Humboldt City Council members Kirk Whittlesey, Mike Worthington, John Sleiter and Joel Goodell.
Also attending were city department heads: Demi Johnson (public library), Ryan Miller (PeopleService city water and wastewater operations manager), Paxton Vanderhoff (recreation, pool and Rec Center), Clayton Vorland (parks, cemetery and sanitation), Chris Ubben (streets) and Joel Sanders, police chief.
