Wildcat boys top Gilbert, fall to Storm Lake

The Humboldt boys basketball team closed out their regular season Thursday night in a 72-54 loss at Storm Lake. The Wildcats moved to 17-3 overall. Storm Lake improved to 13-8.

Humboldt overpowered the Gilbert Tigers, 76-57 Tuesday night (Feb. 15) in their final regular season home game.

Josh Thurm scored 25 points and Jacob Heier made 18 to lead 18-2 Humboldt. Ben Kuehnast added nine and Will Orness had 8. Birk Hanson scored 16 points and Spencer Clatt had 10 to pace Gilbert.

Humboldt hosts Sioux Center Monday night, Feb. 21, in a first round Class 3A substate game at 7 p.m.
