Humota fundraiser features kids activities, food and music
A day-long, fundraiser for the Humota Theater is set for Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds Events Center.
“It’s going to be a whole day event at the fairgrounds. We have a family day planned so people can come between 2 and 7 p.m. We’ll have a bouncy house available for kids to play in. There will be a dunk tank, cotton candy and several local food vendors,” Humota Theater board member Chad Theesfeld said.
“There will be face painting for the kids along with a rock climbing wall and other activities for the entire family,” Theesfeld said. “At the end of the night we have music with Cory Waller & The Wicked Things band performing from 8 to 11 p.m.”
“Everything is all in one spot at the fairgrounds. Advance tickets for the music concert are $10 each. You can buy tickets from board members or at the Humota Theater when we are open. Cost is $15 at the door,” Theesfeld said.
All profits will go toward improving and maintaining the theater. A new sound system and sound-proofing is ongoing and the community non-profit is looking to get funds to have the flat roof repaired at some point.
