The Humboldt Athletic Booster Club received a donation of $50,000 from First State Bank in Humboldt for the construction of the new athletic training complex at Humboldt High School.
Jim Murray, superintendent of Humboldt schools, accepted the donation on behalf of the district last week from bank staff.
“It’s just another great example of how community members support our school. We are so fortunate here in Humboldt to have First State Bank step up and donate towards our multi-purpose building and athletic complex,” Murray said.
“It’s really exciting because it will make us future ready and attract students who come into the communities and provide great facilities for years to come,” Murray said. “I’m really grateful to the team here at First State Bank.”
“We are really pleased about the project at the school. We really believe in it. It will help the school out, along with the expansions they are doing at the middle school, high school, Taft Elementary and updates at Mease Elementary. We’re happy to be a part of it,” Rob Dickey, senior lender at First State Bank, said.
