Girls 5th, boys 6th in cross country opener

Humboldt’s girls placed 5th and the boys were 6th Thursday night in their cross country meet at Iowa Falls to begin the season.
Brynn Malo was 7th in 21:54 to pace Humboldt’s girls. Meg Zweibohmer was 21st in 24:09 and Alana Malo 29th.
Gabe Thumma ran 31st in 20:34 to pace the Humboldt boys. Hayden Hansen was 45th in 21:15 and Jayden Gargano 45th in 21:18.
Clear Lake won both team titles.
Humboldt runs next in the Webster City invite on Aug. 29.
