Homecoming 2022 activities and schedule announced
The Humboldt Community School District has announced the 2022 Homecoming Court and related activities for the week of Sept. 26, capping with the Homecoming football game against North Polk at 7 p.m.
The 2022 Homecoming Court consists of five girls and five boys. Queen candidates are Tricia Kellner, Tori Gargano, Jennika Beach, Darby DeWinter and Kali Beaman. King candidates are Ty Schluter, Josh Thurm, Ty Gargano, Jayden Gargano and Trever Beach.
Dress up days at school will be: ‘Merica Monday, Tropical Tuesday, Woke Up Like This Wednesday, Adam Sandler day on Thursday and Blue and Gold day on Friday. All outfits must follow the school dress code handbook.
Once again, the downtown homecoming event will be on Thursday, Sept. 29, with the coronation following at the high school gym.
Things will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 in downtown Humboldt. Parents, students and fans are encouraged to get homecoming party supplies from local merchants. There will also be food and other items.
The Homecoming parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on 2nd Street North by Taft Elementary School; the route will be east to 4th Street North and then south two blocks to Sumner Avenue. The parade will turn west through downtown on Sumner Avenue and will turn north on Frank Gotch Boulevard, concluding at Bicknell Park.
The coronation ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gym. A freewill donation is accepted from spectators.
From 8:30-10:l5 p.m. on Thursday, there will be a Thrill Night on the high school baseball field grass for Humboldt High School students only. There will be a grass volleyball tournament, other yard games and food.
Friday, Sept. 30, there will be mini assemblies at the schools throughout the day. The high school pep assembly will begin at 2:45 p.m. in the gym.
The Homecoming football game will begin at 7 p.m. with the Homecoming Court recognized at halftime.
Following the game there will be a dance and a blacklight dodgeball game for Humboldt High School students only (no out of town guests) until 11:30 p.m.
