Wildcats bounce back in 66-51 triumph at Hampton
Humboldt's varsity boys' basketball team got back into the win column Monday night (Jan. 9) by pulling away to a 66-51 victory over Hampton-Dumont-CAL in Hampton. Humboldt improved to 6-1 overall, 4-1 in the NCC.
Lynx nip HHS boys in battle of ranked teams, 72-71
In a battle of ranked conference teams, the Webster City Lynx edged the Humboldt Wildcats, 72-71 in the Humboldt gym Friday, Jan. 6.
It was Humboldt’s first loss of the season. The Wildcats are 5-1 overall, 3-1 in the NCC.
Elliot Carlson led Humboldt with 17 points. Josh Thurm made 16 and Evan Hatcher and Will Orness each had 13. Corey Dettmann made 11.
Ty McKinney made 23 to lead WC. Jaime Grossoehme had 21 and Braden Doeringadded 14.
Humboldt returns to action at South Central Calhoun on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The Wildcats host Clear Lake on Friday, Jan. 13, in another key NCC clash.
