HHS girls, boys drop 2 at South Central Calhoun

Humboldt's varsity girl-boy basketball teams traveled to Lake City on Jan. 10 and came up short in a pair of non-conference games with the Titans.
The Wildcat girls (6-4) fell to the the 9-1 Titans, 62-52, while the Wildcat boys (6-2) were upended 84-73 by SCC (8-1).
Ava Fischer made a school record seven 3-point baskets in the game and finished with 25 points to lead Humboldt's girls. Reagan Lee had nine points and Morgan Mann made eight. Kylee Schleisman scored 28 points and Riley Batta had 23 to lead the Titans.
Josh Thurm scored 23 points to power the Humboldt boys. Elliot Carlson made 12, Will Orness 11 and Evan Hatcher had 11 for the Wildcats. Joe Clark scored 28 for SCC. Tyler Lightner had 24 and Eli Wheelock made 22.
Humboldt returns home on Friday, Jan. 13, to host Clear Lake in a pair of key North Central Conference matchups.
