Wrestlers go 3-2 in Osage Duals

The Humboldt boys' wrestling team capped a busy week by going 3-2 and placing fourth overall in the Osage Duals on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Humboldt finished second in Pool A, which included Osage, Winterset, Deborah and Lewis Central. Humboldt defeated Decorah (53-17), No. 10 ranked Winterset (42-30) and Lewis Central (54-10) and lost to top-ranked Osage (41-33). Humboldt faced Ankeny Centennial, which was second in Pool B, and lost, 39-30. Seniors Jayden Gargano and Jase Goodell were selected to the all-tournament team.

Humboldt is now 12-2 overall on the season. The Wildcats will wrestle at Dike-New Hartford on Jan. 19, where they will also face Aplington-Parkersburg and Jesup. The North Central Conference tournament is Jan. 21 in Hampton.
