Sprague, Goodenow new principals at Humboldt High School

Key leadership positions at Humboldt High School have been filled after action Monday night (March 20) by the Humboldt School Board.

The approved the hiring of Travis Sprague as principal and Jessica Goodenow as assistant principal.

Sprague is currently the associate high school principal at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, a position he accepted in April of 2022. Sprague has been in education for 15 years, including four as principal. He will be paid a salary of $130,000.

Goodenow is no stranger to the area as she and her family have lived in Humboldt since she became the principal and daycare director at Gilmore City-Bradgate Elementary School in 2019. She will be paid a salary of $100,000.

“I’ll tell you what, I’m excited about going to Humboldt. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to serving the district and community,” Sprague said.

“I’m really excited about joining the team at Humboldt High School. My family and I have been committed to two districts the last four years. I’m looking forward to finishing strong the last four months in Gilmore City and then be full invested in Humboldt,” Goodenow said.
