Humboldt girls, boys upend Webster City in soccer openers

Edvin Antonio Xum Vicario scored a first half goal and Will Orness added two in the second half to lift the Humboldt boys' soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Webster City Monday night, April 3, in a season opener in Humboldt.
The Humboldt girls were also victorious in their contest at Webster City, shutting out the Lynx 2-0. Senior Ava McIntire scored both goals for Humboldt in their season opener.
The Wildcat girls return home Tuesday night, April 4, to host Mason City in a 5 p.m. contest.
