Humboldt County burn ban lifted

Humboldt County issued a burn ban last Wednesday but lifted the ban Monday morning, April 17, after weekend rains and snow. Humboldt Independent photo by Kent Thompson.
Pursuant to Chapter 100.40, State Code of Iowa, and at the request of Kyle Bissell, Humboldt County Emergency Management coordinator, representing each fire department having all or part of their fire districts within Humboldt County, the open burning ban for Humboldt County will be lifted effective Monday, April 17, at 10 a.m.
The ban was issued last Wednesday due to dry conditions and extremely strong winds, after a request by fire chiefs in the county.
