HHS girls’ 4th in NCC golf meet, Packard 3rd individually


ARIES PACKARD

Aries Packard placed third overall in leading the Humboldt girls’ golf team to fourth in the North Central Conference tournament on Monday, May 8 at Mason City.

Packard finished with rounds of 44 and 47 for a 91 total as Humboldt totaled 413 strokes.

Team champion Clear Lake finished with 334, followed by Iowa Falls-Alden at 396 and Algona with 407. Webster City was fifth behind the Wildcats with 437. Hampton-Dumont-CAL shot 449, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 465 and Fort Dodge St. Edmond was last at 501.

Clear Lake’s defending state placewinners Rebecca DeLong (34-38) and Meghan DeLong (36-37), led the Lions and were also the meet medalists.

Humboldt senior Noelle Hamand was ninth overall with a 97. McKenna Mathis shot 109, Lillian Holm 116, Morgan Mayall 123 and Macy Berte had 124.
