Ashlynn Works, Morgan Mann advance to state track

Humboldt junior Ashlynn Works and sophomore Morgan Mann both earned automatic spots in the Class 3A state track meet after placing high in a qualifier at Nevada on Thursday, May 11.
Works was second in both the shot put and discus, good enough to advance to state in both events. Her shot put throw measured 35-2 and she hurled the disc 133-4.
Mann was second in the high jump with a leap of 5-0. The top two placewinners in each event along with the eight-best statewide advance into the state meet, to be held May 18-20 in Des Moines.
Humboldt will find out Friday if it has any additional state qualifiers.
