Humboldt's varsity boys' soccer team claimed the North Central Conference title by manhandling Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 11-1 Monday night (May 15) in Humboldt.

The triumph gave Humboldt a 14-1 record to end the regular season. The Wildcats finish 11-1 and in a first-place tie with Webster City for the league title. Humboldt won the league title outright a year ago.

Cristhian Ramirez scored four goals to lead Humboldt. Carter Westre netted two, along with Will Orness. Antonio Sum Vicar, Gaige Allen and Johnathan Gasca each had one goal. Trever Beach made three assists.

Humboldt will receive a first round bye in substate tournament action which begins this week. The Wildcats will host a semifinal round game on May 22 against Iowa Falls-Alden or Wright County. A victory on May 22 would send the Wildcats into a substate final in Humboldt on May 24 against Mason City or Newton for the right to advance to the state tournament.
